I am pleased to welcome you to West Virginia University's Institute for Information Assurance Studies (IIAS), which is housed in the Lane Department of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering . WVU has a long record of successful work in the information assurance and computer security fields. Some of our academic programs which train students in the field of information assurance include:

WVU also has highly active research programs in the fields of information assurance, computer security, biometric systems, and identity management. These research programs feature close collaborations with NASA, the FBI, and the West Virginia State Police. One of the jewels in this research program is the Center for Identification Technology Research (CITeR), a National Science Foundation-supported Industry/University Cooperative Research Center. If you are interested in study or research into any of these areas, this website serves as a springboard to programs within the department and the university. We look forward to partnering with you to grow our research and educational programs, and to serve the information assurance community.
