LCSEE Systems Administration Staff: Tape Backup Policy

The LCSEE Systems Administration Staff provides tape backups for selected file systems on various computers and servers throughout the department. This article outlines the various file systems that are put onto tape for backup, when the backup process occurs, how files are retained, and the restoration process.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering staff, faculty, administrators, officers and students (collectively, "users") that have files on the machines which undergo nightly incremental backups.
