Sam Romano is the current president of SSAB and is pursuing a dual degree in Biometric Systems and Computer Engineering. He has been involved with SSAB throughout his career at West Virginia University and held the title of Secondary Officer for the 2008-2009 school year. His interest in biometrics is rooted in the program’s requirement to understand and master a wide variety of skills and coursework in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science. Sam also, loves the versatility of the field, shown by its existence in the government, commercial, and personal industries.
Sam was born and raised in the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area of West Virginia. He attended Bridgeport High School and remained extremely active in both his studies and extracurricular activities—and encourages WVU students to do the same. Sam’s e-mail address is sromano at mix.wvu.edu
Allen Wight is the current Vice President of SSAB and is set to graduate December of 2010 with a Bachelor Degree in both Biometric Systems and Computer Engineering. His involvement in SSAB stems from a profound interest in the myriad applications and benefits of Biometrics in different systems. Allen also enjoys educating his peers about the booming field and brainstorming new applications of various technologies.
Allen has resided in Harpers Ferry West Virginia for most of his life and graduated from Jefferson High School in 2006. One of the best ways to get in touch with Allen is through his email, awight1 at mix.wvu.edu.
Peter has been studying biometrics at WVU and held various positions, from treasure to vice president, in SSAB since he joined during his freshman year. He joined SSAB and switched his major from computer science to biometrics in part because of the many oppertunities that SSAB provides students such as trips, jobs and exposure to the biometrics community.
Peter is currently a Morgantown resident while he goes to school here but finds the prospect of oppertunities in several other parts of the country promising and interesting.
Eddie Jesinsky has maintained the SSAB website since early 2008, and health permitting,
will continue to do so until his graduation in 2011. He is a senior, majoring in Computer Science
and Biometric Systems. Eddie's interest in Biometrics comes from his involvement in SSAB, which has
provided many exciting opportunities.
While originally hailing from Maryland, Eddie has been a West Virginia resident since 2004, and graduated
from Jefferson High School in 2006. Eddie can be contacted at ejesinsk at mix.wvu.edu.
Joseph Yaworski, whom prefers to be called Jy, is a Computer Science and Biometric Systems dual major currently in his sophomore year of study. Joseph became interested in biometric systems after viewing the many machines at WVU, and decided to pursue that as a career.
Currently employed by Videntity systems in Morgantown, WV, Joseph is a native of Weirton, WV. His involvement in SSAB led him to this position, which he gladly accepted. He has aspirations to work for the FBI after he graduates, hopefully in 2012.
