- Kernel of a Multiprocess Operating System, designed for educational
use in conjunction with a textbook by Milenkovic [1987]. Mid 1980s.
- MINIX
- Educational OS designed to be highly compatible with UNIX, for use
with a text by Tanenbaum [1986]. Mid 1980s.
- MPX
- Multiprogramming Executive. Multitasking executive for small computers,
designed for educational use along with a text by Lane & Mooney [1988].

- Toronto University System. Unix lookalike written in the EUCLID language.
