Title: The Application of Neural Networks and Optimization Techniques to Currency Trading
Speaker: Dr. Leon Luxembourg
ISR
Date: Mon. Mar. 10, 2003
Time: 4-5 PM
Location: MER 113, WVU Evansdale Campus

Abstract: The currency trading market is by far the largest in the world, with trading volume exceeding that of NYSE by a factor of 60-80. It presents the best opportunity for technical trading utilizing many intelligent signal processing techniques. The presentation will review different approaches for prediction and analysis of currency time series for optimal profit opportunity. A neural network approach as well as an optimization approach and probabilistic approach will be explored.

Speaker Bio: Luxembourg holds a Ph.D. From Texas A&M in Electrical Engineering and has published 25 papers on Engineering and Mathematics. His areas of research include: Artificial Neural Networks, Dynamical Systems, and Stability Analysis.
